… more about jean here . . .

In 1995, politics became a full-time occupation for Jean McIver. She became District Coordinator in a South Texas congressional race that covered 23 counties. It was her job to meet with Republican office holders and activists in each one of the counties. When Jean asked supporters to “Get Out the Vote” in their county, it meant she was right beside them, walking precincts, making phone calls, and participating in Republican activities.

In 2005, she and her husband retired and moved to Frisco to be nearer family. Her family’s Texas roots run deep – they were part of Stephen F. Austin’s first colonists in our state. She has been married to Don for 47 years. They are parents of two married children who’ve blessed them with four grandchildren.

What kind of future are we leaving for our grandkids was frequently running through her mind. In the summer of 2007, Jean received a job offer she couldn’t refuse – to be Texas State Coordinator for Ron Paul’s presidential campaign.

Jean serves as State Republican Executive Committeewoman for Texas Senate District 12 and is on the Ballot Security Committee.
Working for the future of her children’s children will be her legacy.
